Developed by MetalCat Interactive, Grimlord is a dark fantasy, souls-like VR action RPG built around physics-driven melee combat, dungeon exploration, and character progression. It’s available now on SteamVR and Meta Quest.
A PlayStation VR2 launch may be close, but there’s still no confirmed date. In the official Grimlord Discord, community manager KUPOkinz replied to a question about the PS VR2 release window by saying the port is in its final stages and estimated it’s less than a month away.
“yup that is set to release very soon actually, its in final stages. I would say less than a month”
Another developer followed up by saying the PS VR2 version is nearing completion, and claimed the team had to move engine versions due to bugs - while also noting limited support due to how few VR teams are working in UE5.
“Yes, despite the many difficulties, it is nearing completion. We had to upgrade the engine to version 5.6 because versions 5.3 and 5.5 had some bugs. Very few teams are making VR games with UE5. Sony and Epic could offer very limited assistance.”
The same Discord thread also touched on trophies, saying the team is actively designing a trophy system and intends to update it across other platforms too.
“Yes, we are designing the trophy system and will be updating it for SteamVR and Quest.”
As of now, there is no PS VR2 PlayStation Store page available to wishlist, and the “less than a month” estimate remains an informal Discord timeframe rather than an announced release date. We will update when more information comes in.
