Frost Survival VR is Wenkly Studios’ VR survival game built around managing harsh conditions, building out a base, and pushing through longer runs as you scavenge and craft.
Wenkly Studios says a new update is coming soon, and it’s centered on three goals: giving players more control over how the world plays, adding more atmosphere, and improving overall quality of life.
The biggest addition is Custom Mode, a new way to start a run that lets players adjust - or even disable - some of the game’s core systems. Wenkly says players will be able to tweak settings including the temperature and sanity systems, how quickly player needs deplete, friendly fire, and fire fuel consumption rate, along with other survival-related options. The studio describes this as a way to support both tougher hardcore runs and more relaxed, sandbox-style playthroughs, while improving replayability.
On the quality-of-life side, the update adds a new Trash Can structure for getting rid of unwanted items, and increases the number of save slots from 3 to 6 to make it easier to experiment with multiple runs and Custom Mode setups.
For atmosphere, Wenkly is also adding a new night variant featuring Northern Lights, aimed at bringing more visual variety to nighttime exploration while keeping the world’s cold, harsh tone. The studio also says the update includes additional bug fixes and polish intended to improve stability and smoothness, especially for longer runs with more built-up worlds.
Frost Survival VR’s Custom Mode update is planned to arrive soon.
Frost Survival VR is available now on Meta Quest and Steam
