The Light Brigade's "Shadow Hunter" Update Brings a New Archery Class and More!

The Light Brigade's

Developed by Funktronic Labs and available now on the Meta Quest 2/3, SteamVR, and PSVR2, The Light Brigade was one of our favorite games of 2023 and has continued to bring new content to this VR roguelike shooter. This game takes you through procedurally generated levels featuring physics-based gunplay and all the classic roguelike elements you'd expect such as permadeath, upgrades, unlocks, as well as gun attachments, magic spells, and buffs.

Available now on all platforms, the new "Shadow Hunter" update brings a new class to The Light Brigade, introducing the Hunter class - armed with a recurve bow and throwing knives. To unlock this new class requires you to be a Lvl 5 rifleman or Lvl 20 in any class

Beyond the new class, the Shadow Hunter update also brings a new procedurally generated world level called "Sunless Keep" as well as new tarot cards that boost your character's abilities. Beyond the new content, this update also brings quality-of-life fixes such as bug fixes and gameplay balancing.

Funktronic Labs has been hard at work improving The Light Brigade since its launch last year and previous updates right after launch brought improvements such as adding user-customizable iron sights and reticle colors, adjusting AI behavior, and more.

In August 2023 they put out their "Memories of War" update bringing the Engineer and Shotgunner classes to the game, new items to find on runs in the shop, new hand-crafted levels between procedurally generated stages, a new shooting range mini-game, and game balancing and fixes.

Continuing on that in December 2023, they introduced a new Mixed Reality game mode bringing the fight to your living room, and Meta Quest 3 enhancements including new graphical improvement options. This update even introduced some Quest 2 updates improving the game's performance.

Funktronic Labs continues to raise the bar on this already great game. Grab it today on the Meta Quest 2/3, SteamVR, and PSVR2 (and don't forget to check out our Ruff Talk VR podcast review of it).
